In a recent interview with Wired, Hideki Konno has stated that there is a possibility of the 3DS getting bigger screens before release. This news will be a major relief to owners of the DSi XL who don’t wish to downgrade to smaller screens come release day. He didn’t seem too sold on the idea, but he did state “We can make it larger”;

The DSi XL was quite impactful with its very large screen, but the concept for the 3DS is to have consumers bring it out of their homes and carry it around, considering all of those Tag Mode functions in the hardware. If we make it too large, consumers might not be able to carry such a heavy thing in their bags. We wanted to make it compact.

What do the rest of you guys think? Should the 3DS have bigger screens? I think they should increase the size and resolution of the touch screen for sure, but the main 3D screen seems pretty much spot on for me.
