A new power up found in the upcoming Sonic Colours has been announced by Sega. Titled the “Orange Wisp”, Sonic gains rocket power when it’s used.
When absorbed, the Orange Wisp will blast Sonic into the air with an explosion of colour. Sonic will then be able to reach secret areas and hidden rings beyond average reach as he travels through the air at unbelievable pace.
As the third Wisp to be revealed so far, I believe the Orange Wisp to sound the coolest – the Blue Wisp gives Sonic a laser-like ability that allows him to bounce off walls and objects at immense speed and Yellow Wisps give Sonic a drill power.
Anyway, it would certainly seem that the folks at Sega have been watching Nintendo at work with Super Mario Galaxy 2 though – Sonic has got a number of power ups at his disposal and even a drill. Plus, the team are drip-feeding us tidbits of juicy detail.
